Job Title: Fundraiser
Job Location: Cape Town
This is a 12 months’ contract post. The contract may be renewed or become permanent subject to the performance and needs of the organisation at the time.
Requirements:
- A relevant tertiary qualification
- Minimum of three years’ successful fundraising experience and good references
- Interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, (Excel and PowerPoint)
- Proven ability to source, nurture and manage fundraising opportunities
- Proven experience in writing proposals and corresponding funding reports (examples of prior fundraising proposals / appeals will be requested)
- Experience in database management and in online fundraising
- In possession of a valid manual Code 8 driver’s license (own transport a recommendation)
- Respect diversity and understand the challenges facing NGOs
- Ability to research and identify prospective funders (trusts, foundations, corporates, etc.)
- Take full responsibility for donor liaison and contractual requirements
- Anticipate project needs, discern work priorities, and meet deadlines
- Interpret and compile budgets and financial reports
- Function as a member of a team, yet operate independently and responsibly
- Pay attention to detail, be target-driven, and have time-management skills
- Display accountability to all stakeholders
- Be professional in manner, appearance and work ethic
