Our company is looking for a suitably qualified and experienced Senior Manager: Reporting to join our dynamic team
Job Title: Senior Manager: Reporting
Location: Gauteng
Job Summary:
Duties & Responsibilities:
To ensure that all financial reports are prepared timeously, accurately and that reporting processes are implemented and adhered to.
Reporting:
Review and manage the preparation of the Monthly KPI information.
Review the CFO Flash reports including financial and KPI information
Management of the monthly management reporting process ensuring timeous delivery
Assistance and input relating to IFRS applications
Ensure financial accounts and management reports reconcile
Assist management with monthly conference calls with the Board Review and manage preparation of the Annual and Quarterly Financial Statements (IFRS)
Review and manage the process and preparation of the Investor Reports upon request from Corporate Finance.
Review and manage the preparation of the monthly and quarterly reports for shareholders. Reports and information must be completed and submitted before deadlines communicated by the head office. This includes, but not limited to:
Review and manage the preparation of the income statement;
Review and manage the preparation of the balance sheet;
Review and manage the preparation of the notes to the balance sheet and income statement;
Review and manage the preparation of the shareholder packs and the notes to the shareholder pack.
Regional drivers
Responsible for reviewing the drivers used to allocate costs and revenue on a monthly basis to ensure that the allocations remain relevant and applicable. This includes updating and allocating drivers to new general ledger accounts.
Responsible for maintaining and updating the drivers on a monthly basis.
Responsible for liaising with the IT team for regional reporting system requirements.
Responsible for managing queries received from each regional Executive and or controller with regard to monthly of year to date performance against budget, prior month and prior years.
Liaising with regional controllers to identify any material drivers that are affecting performance with regard to revenue and costs.
Responsible for communicating with the shareholder in respect of:
Ad-hoc reports and calculations;
Attend and manage financial performance-based queries from the shareholder
Review and manage preparation of the monthly consolidation of the Group companies ensuring that consolidated results are accurate and up to date
Review and manage preparation of ad-hoc reporting upon request for external parties (e.g. Stats SA, Reserve Bank)
Support and manage the year end external audit process
Responsible for managing and or the preparation of the Cell C internal reports for Executives.
Manage and review of the Annual Financial Statements for entities within the group
Preparation of compliance certificates for financial institutions
Variance analysis and performance reporting:
1. Ensure Business Planning & Forecasting are informed of Financial and KPI performance against current forecast
a. Ensure quality, accuracy and consistency of information received and prepared
b. Review of all reporting deliverables to external recipients ensuring that documents are accurate.
c. Ensure data integrity and efficiency in reporting processes.
Ensure consistency in classification and integrity across different reports
Responsible for developing a holistic, detailed analysis of Gross Margin, Opex, Capex, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow and KPI performance and articulate this in the MMR, Investor, Shareholder and other ad-hoc reporting. Identify trends and provide appropriate commentary, and ensure an appropriate level of insight
Responsible for Gross Margin, Opex, Capex, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow and KPI variance analysis against budget/forecast and prior periods
Perform reviews of the full P&L and Balance sheet. This includes running the internal Finance P&L and Balance sheet review meeting to verify the outputs and understand variances
Data integrity:
CI & PM: Obtain KPI information in order to produce financial reports, checking data integrity
Financial Control: Interact to obtain variance explanations relating to Opex and Capex and certain kpi’s
Accounting: Provides TB for financial reporting. Produces revenue, interconnect, roaming and customer investment numbers. Will also provide variance analysis
Commercial Finance: Provide detail on Gross Margin performance and insight into KPIs
Budget & Forecasting: Interact to understand basis of preparation of budget to assist variance analysis
Corporate Finance: Produce Investor and ad-hoc reporting upon request. Obtain information to support preparation of financial statements
Assist in completing and preparing ADHOC projects when requested.
Key interfaces:
Responsible for providing information for regions following regions:
Responsible for the review and managing the preparation of the monthly flash results. This requires the preparation of an income statement for each region listed above.
Responsible for the review and management of the monthly internal regional report. The monthly regional reports requires:
· Income statement – Detailing the performance for the month and the YTD performance for each region listed above.
· Performance analysis – Report providing an analysis of the actual performance tracked against the budget, the prior month and the prior year. This will include monthly and year to date performance for all regions listed above.
· Performance analysis – Monitor the performance of financial and non-financial KPI for each region listed above
Technical Analysis of transactions:
Assess and analyse transactions and or structures and draft a technical analysis of the accounting treatment in line with the International Financial Reporting Standards
Present and discuss the assessment with the auditors and ensure all queries and issues are resolved
Special projects:
Responsible for developing a holistic, detailed view of Gross Margin, Opex, and KPI performance. Identify trends and provide appropriate commentary and ensure an appropriate level of insight for each region.
Perform reviews of the full P&L for each region and provide timely feedback to management.
Staff Leadership
Lead and motivate staff to effectively deliver objectives, ensuring development opportunities, appraisal and management systems are embedded and relevant HR procedures are adhered to
Provide an advisory, support and mentorship function to enable staff to grow within their career
Maintain a low staff turnover rate.
Initiate the appropriate Labour Relation action required within the department
Establish, evaluate and guide the department’s Employee Performance Management programme
Set Key Performance Indicators targets and goals as per the department strategy and business objectives.
Recruit employees; assign and direct work, oversee their development, identify training needs and maintain staff competence
Uphold HR policies and procedures
Apply and adhere to Cell C Health and Safety procedures and rules.
Perform any related duties as requested by Management
Desired Experience & Qualification:
CA Qualification required
High level of analysis and collation of data to extract and provide the correct reports.
Minimum Experience:
5-8 Years’ experience in all areas of accounting
5 years leadership experience
Experience in Telecommunications industry will be an added advantage.
