Our company is looking for a suitably qualified and experienced Business Development Manager to join our dynamic team.
Job Title: Business Development Manager
Duties & Responsibilities:
To identify and acquire new Mobile Virtual Network Operator (“MVNO”) sales across all areas of wholesale Channels, driving and delivering on expanding the Cell C footprint across South Africa, growing profitable revenue, and ensuring performance and divisional targets are met. Additionally, develop and manage sales, plans, and establishes policies and objectives of sales function in accordance with strategic objectives of the Cell C Wholesale Business Division, and provide operational support to business service partners.
Sales Planning; Sales Performance and Customer/Partner Management:
Consult with executives to plan sales objectives, to develop sales policies and to coordinate functions.
Plan, organise and control according to laid down sales policy, the sales activities of the sales representatives in the area under his control.
Identify key needs of partners and customers and offers solutions to them through the company’s services or products.
Develop annual engagement strategy, hospitality & training program.
Conduct presentations to demonstrate to potential clients the benefits of our products.
Develop effective sales and promotional strategies to obtain maximum sales volume and profitable revenue.
Brief product management, network and IT regarding the business opportunities and customer needs for the development of new products and services.
Responsible for the overall operation and profitability of the area as well as the achievement of pre-set sales targets.
Research sales statistics and establish sales potential with new businesses in our target area.
Achieve revenue targets for the business sales division and reduce churn within the channel.
Turn business opportunities into sales opportunities and always maintain an active sales pipeline.
Ensure achievement of profitable sales revenue and acquisition targets on a consistent basis and in line with defined Business Sales budgets.
Monitor sales performance for all contributing channels, on an ongoing basis and create reports and presentations to present to Executive management.
Become an expert in our product offerings and serve as a go-to source for clients who want more information concerning our products.
Establish and maintain healthy, long-term relationships with customers and business service partners to generate repeat business and referrals.
Ensure high level of client satisfaction by maintaining regular client contact.
Ensures that all records are continually updated and maintains individual contact with key customers and management.
Negotiate and close agreements in close cooperation with Legal, Finance and Product Management.
Work closely with Product and Marketing to leverage on product offerings, campaigns and marketing opportunities.
Develop an action plan derived from the Wholesale Functional Business Plan in order to meet the sections operational strategy and the Divisions tactical strategy
Identify and acquire new business opportunities which drives profitable growth for Wholesale.
Proactively research and target focused MVNO and Business Service Partners with the sole intention and determination to deliver them as a Cell C wholesale customer.
Leverage on Cell C’s digital business strategy and ability to utilize other Networks infrastructure to deliver on to offer a holistic customer centric solution.
Keep abreast of financial market information and opportunities to seize market opportunity.
Identify and establish relationship with key player in the relevant segments.
Evaluate the market position of competing products, services, and organizations and their marketing and sales techniques and keep management informed.
Determine new ways to make products appealing by observing the environment and current trends.
Operations Management and Channel Support:
Enforce company policy and processes and ensure compliance thereof.
Direct preparation of reports, collate and provide reports as required to Executive management
Provide and manage operational channel support to business partners in close cooperation with Service Desk, Finance, Product Management, IT and Networks.
Direct performance of sales personnel and detect low performance early and take corrective action to turn this around.
Perform any related duties as requested by Management
Prepare and manage the approved budget within area of control.
Prepare cost tracking and variation reports.
Make recommendations for budget affecting change requests.
Inform management timeously of potential over-spend.
Establish and evaluate Key Performance Indicators
Health and Safety Compliance:
Strictly apply and adhere to Cell C Health and Safety procedures and rules.
Manage conformance to Cell C Health, Safety and Environmental standards.
Manage, identify and minimize Cell C’s exposure to operational risk.
Monitor, investigate and report all health and safety matters and incidents.
Ensure the appointment of the SHE representative, First-aiders and evacuation marshals as per legislation and Cell C requirements.
Desired Experience & Qualification:
B Degree, preferably in Business Administration or Engineering
Appropriate Post Graduate Qualification preferable
6 years’ experience in Sales preferably Telecom and /or IT Industries
Channel and Sales management experience preferably
2 years people management experience is beneficial
Strong leadership and networking skills
