Purpose of the Job

To provide and support the sales and distribution function with sound commercial industry knowledge and expertise in all aspects including the reduction of the company’s trading risks and enhancing revenues.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Pricing
•Approval of the monthly price lists prior to distribution.
•Approval of the deal costings prior to release.
•Verification and approval of all deal sheets prior to release.
•Manage of subscriber acquisition and pre paid costs in line with very tight business plan
•Deals Sheets and Price Lists.
•Ensure Cell C has best in class deals for the promotional period (20th to the 19th monthly)
•Product recommendation
•Provide indicative pricing for handset roadmap and update technical specifications.
•Ensure best possible pricing on all SKU’s
•Strive for zero pre paid subsidy.
Cost and Budget Management
•Manage the budget for the Business Development Unit Section
•Participate in the development of the budget for this section.
•Review and Recommend expenditure.
•Manage Handset manufacture co op, rebate and promotional budget with expense recommendations
•Prepare the budget within area of control.
•Prepare cost tracking and variation reports.
•Make recommendations for budget-affecting change requests.
•Inform Management timeously of potential over-spend.
Special Projects Management
•Project manages the launch of new projects.
•Provide input to all stake holders on such specific projects to the respective launch.
•Communicate all relevant business rules / business processes to all internal stakeholders.
•Manage special projects that impact on Cell C SP trade partners and distribution channels
Report Generation
•Authorise and submit all required reports on previous month’s statistics.
•Maintain data files
•Prepare monthly reports with business insights from channels and trade partners.
•Prepare handset statistics report
•Manage the Sales Statistics file
•Compile Sales forecasts reports.
•Analyze sales statistics to determine sales potential and inventory requirements and monitor the preferences of customers.
•Conduct sales presentation on predicted and achieved sales status.
•Receive, analyze and summarize Regional Sales Performance reports on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis.
•Manage reports to effectively make decision regarding stocks and stock holdings and set budgets
Staff Management & development
•Manage staff within the Business Development department, establish and evaluate Key Performance Indicators.
•Ensure that new staff employed is in line with BEE requirements as set out by the company.
•Recruit employees; assign and direct work, oversee their development, identify training needs and maintain staff competence.
•Staff retention
•Provide an advisory and support function.
•Initiate the appropriate Labour Relation action required within section.
•Uphold HR policies and procedures.
•Conduct performance appraisals
•Track and manage Employee engagement Index taking corrective measures
Account Development
•Participate in regular trade partner deals and handset ranging meetings
•Manage both internal and external customer in the scope of responsibility i.e. sales team and handset manufacturers.
Handset Ranging & forecasting
•Mange the handset ranging process
•Ensure correct handset ranging by channel and trade partner
•Align forecasts with business plan (handset sales turnover R1 Billion)
•Manage the handset manufacturers product roadmap
•Understand the stock in channel for all key accounts
•Assist trade partners and sales team with forecasting.
•Critically Evaluate handset manufacture long term roll out plans and product strategies to determine fit with Cell C vision
•Liaise with handset manufacturers regarding long term forecasts.

Health and Safety Compliance
•Strictly apply and adhere to Cell C Health and Safety procedures and rules.
•Manage conformance to Legislation and Cell C Health, Safety and Environmental standards.
•Manage, identify and minimize Cell C’s exposure to operational risk.
•Monitor, investigate and report all health and safety matters and incidents.
•Ensure the appointment of the SHE representative, First-aiders, evacuation marshals and establishing / maintenance of SHE Committees as per legislation and Cell C requirements.
Perform any related duties as requested by Management.
Educational Requirements/Skills & Experience

BCom
3 – 5 + years similar experience.
Understanding of Marketing concepts
