We operate 100,000 barrels per day refinery in Milnerton, Cape Town, that produces gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, liquefied petroleum gas, fuel oil, paving asphalt and other products. Chevron South Africa also has interests in a lubricant oil manufacturing plant in Durban and maintains a laboratory and blending plant there.

Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Contracts and Demurrage Specialist located in Cape Town, South Africa through July 17, 2014 at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time).
Position Details: Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

Demurrage: Export, Import and Crude vessels

-Analyzes all demurrage claims and exhaust all possibilities for reduction of claims prior to submitting for payment approval
-Liases with appropriate personnel both internal and external to CVX to ensure that demurrage claims are closed out in specified time
-Ensures that all documentation required by customers are available
-Establishes or optimizes existing management systems to track demurrage position on a weekly and monthly basis
-Prepares demurrage incident reports for claims above the accepted business tolerance

Demurrage: Local vessels

-Analyzes all demurrage claims and exhaust all possibilities for reduction of claims prior to submitting for payment approval
-Liases with appropriate personnel both internal and external to CVX to ensure that demurrage claims are closed out in specified time
-Ensures that all documentation required by customers are available
-Establishes or optimize existing management systems to track demurrage position on a weekly and monthly basis
-Together with the local shipping S&T personnel, prepares demurrage incident reports for claims above the accepted business tolerance

 

Crude/Product Import and Export Deal Management

-Manages deal information flow for every vessel loaded
-Manages and close out deal files as per deal file check list
-Monitors documentation to comply with CVX and Caltex requirements
-Tracks DAS documentation and ensure minimal outstanding acquittals
-Checks and prepares invoices for approval
-Establishes or optimizes existing deal management systems to track deal management performance on a weekly and monthly basis
-Manages all shipping contracts and associated losses
-Manages all storage contracts associated with deals to ensure compliance

 

Required Qualifications:

BCom or BTech Degree in Business or Commerce
Minimum of 3 years work related experience obtained from oil and gas industry
Proficient in using SAP and MS Excel
Excellent negotiation, analytical and communication skills

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge & expertise in Supply Chain & refinery operations
Contract Management – Shipping & Storage Contracts and deal flow for Trade deals
Supply chain profitability knowledge and skills & gross margin focus
