Child Welfare Durban and District New Job Position

Child Welfare Durban and District is a nonprofit organisation that provides a wide range of services to children, their families and communities in the Durban and Umlazi areas. The organisation’s core concern is to protect children who are at risk.  This includes neglected, abused, abandoned and orphaned children, a large majority of whom are either infected or affected by HIV/AIDS.

Job Title: Executive Director

Salary: R450 000 to R500 000 dependent on experience and qualifications

The purpose of the position is to provide inspiring leadership both internally and externally, delivering transformational cultural change and strategic renewal. Accountable to the CWDD Board, the Director will lead the organisation in continuing to speak truth to power, while rebuilding the confidence of our staff, partners and the public.

Requirements:

• Minimum qualification (bachelor’s degree, MBA or similar)
• Minimum of five years’ experience in Director / Snr Management position
• Proven track record in terms of business turn-around
• Knowledge of all facets of management including finances, fund raising and donor relations.
• Written and verbal skills
• Ability to interact with staff and unions representatives
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Leadership qualities and must be able to manage and motivate staff to perform at peak
• Proven ability to make difficult and strategic decisions in line with organisations mission, vision and core values
• Experience in strategic management and implementation.
• Appointment subject to results of psychometric testing of shortlisted candidates
