Cipla Foundation’s Sha’P Left Project has been funded to support National the Department of Health in establishing Central Chronic Medication Dispensing and Distribution (CCMDD) pick-up points (PUPs). These units enable stable patients to easily access, and conveniently collect their chronic medication outside of a clinic facility.

Cipla Foundation Sha’P Left Project is looking to employ a KwaZulu Natal (KZN) Regional Manager on a fixed term contract. Reporting to the Sha’P Left Project Manager, the KZN Regional Manager will be responsible for overall management of PUP operations in the KZN region including stakeholder engagement, PUP implementation and capacitation, recruitment, technical assistance and supervision of all PUP operational activities.

 

Job Title: Regional Manager (Sha’P Left Project)
Location: KwaZulu Natal (KZN)

 

Responsibilities are to:

  • Engage with provincial DOH, community stakeholders, and PEPFAR implementing partners to enable strategic placement and landing of PUPS
  • Engage with DOH facilities to drive decanting of stable chronically ill clients into PUPS
  • Represent the Sha’P Left Project at provincial PEPFAR partner meetings
  • Engage with sub-contractors to ensure that Sha’P Left Project objectives are achieved
  • Ensure executive and senior management are kept abreast with regional developments, opportunities and operational problems in a timeous manner
  • Conduct presentations as required
  • Provide written narrative reports as required
  • Follow program management principles to plan and execute activities
  • Manage working knowledge of regional staff, contract requirements, resources required, and deliverables

  • Manage PUP Operators and provide onsite mentorship and support as required
  • Manage Decanting Reps including analysis of the number of clients decanted within their allocated catchment areas
  • Oversee regional HR related administration and processes e.g. collate, review and approval of monthly timesheets, recruitment
  • Conduct regular PUP visits to ensure adherence to dispensing SOPs, appropriate stock management, maintenance of equipment and cleanliness
  • Train new PUP recruits in accordance with Sha’P Left Project’s training requirements and relevant dispensing statutory obligations.

Requirements:

  • Health related degree/diploma or minimum of 10 years relevant health management experience
  • Computer literacy essential
  • Previous experience using health/patient management/pharmacy software packages preferable
  • Valid driver’s licence
