Position : CoE Managers X3 (Structural, Geotechnical, Dams and Waterways)

Task Grade : M18

Area of Speacialization : To provide technical directions and management for Civil Engineering Centre of Excellence (Structural or Geotechnical or Dams and Waterways). This includes the planning, organizing, coordinating and controlling of the entire design engineering process.

Minimum Requirements

• Qualification(s) and related Experience:
o BSc Engineering, B Eng. or B Tech plus 8 years extensive experience in design integration and engineering management in power generation technologies for materials handling plant, low pressure services plant, chemical plant, boiler emission control, milling, draft group, burners, power plant processes, turbine centre line, pumps, gas turbines, high pressure equipment, feed heating and cooling, solar plants, wind energy plant and related chemistry system, electrical, C&I and civil.
o Other tertiary Engineering Qualification including National Higher Diploma in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronics, Computer, Civil, Metallurgical or Industrial Engineering plus 10 years technical and technology leadership experience
o Additional Post Graduate business qualification will be an advantage
o Professional registration with ECSA as Professional Engineer or Technologist

Key Responsibilities

o Provide management and leadership for an engineering centre of excellence (CoE) function
o Establish and maintain the integrity of the design base of Eskom assets for the relevant centre of excellence
o Establish design governance requirements for relevant engineering centre of excellence as the design authority
o Establish and maintain technical capability for an engineering centre of excellence
o Plan and manage design work delivery in an integrated manner for the life cycle of all Eskom assets related to the centre of excellence.
o Perform general function management (financial, performance resources, relationship and skills development)
