The core purpose of the role is to lead the enterprise architecture function and create the vision, strategy and planning for the function across the organisation.

The role leads, prioritizes and develops the overall IT enterprise architecture approach for the organisation and communicates IT architectural direction. The scope of the role is across Barloworld Automotive and Logistics with participation at a Barloworld Group level.

Specification

1.IT Enterprise Architecture Strategy
a.Lead the creation and evolution of the IT enterprise architecture function in line with the Barloworld Automotive and Logistics integration.
b.Promote and demonstrate the business value of the IT enterprise architecture function, its processes and results to business and IT leaders and executives as an enabler of the business strategy and as support for technology solutions.
c.Lead the development of an implementation plan for the organisation’s IT enterprise architecture based on business and IT strategy and requirements.
d.Construct technology-enabled operating models and provide viable options and visibility into execution issues.

2.IT Enterprise Architecture Governance
a.Lead and facilitate the creation of governance, assurance and standards to guide IT enterprise architecture decision making.
b.Ensure the optimal governance structure for the IT enterprise architecture function across all entities.
c.Oversee the evaluation and selection of IT enterprise architecture standards.

3.IT Enterprise Architecture Execution
a.Work with business peers to develop and present business capability models and roadmaps to facilitate discussion and decision making with stakeholders across the organisation.
b.Lead analysis of the business’ future state capabilities, the future and the current IT environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improving and driving the business forward.
c.Lead analysis of the IT environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement.
d.Present an IT investment roadmap that reflects the status of the existing IT estate and the investment required to contribute to the organisation’s future-state business capabilities.
e.Oversee the documentation of all IT architecture design and analysis work.

4.Research
a.Lead the analysis of current business and operating models, market trends and the technology industry to determine their potential impact on the organisation’s business strategy, direction and IT architecture.
b.Track and assess innovative and existing technologies in support of the current business operating model and strategy.

Requirements
•B Degree in IT or Computer Science
•Relevant post graduate degree
•Relevant Business or MBA degree
Masters degree in IT or Computer Science or MBA
•10 -15 years in a technology-related role of which at least 7 years’ experience must be in a senior leadership role.
•Proven track record of development of application, technical, business, and information architecture.
•Enterprise and Organisational modelling experience.
•A customer-centric approach to solutioning.
•Experience in driving transformation with internal and external stakeholders.
•Demonstrated ability to organise and manage multiple competing and sometime ambiguous priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
