Construction Manager (CNM) – Power Systems/Power Generation project experience is crucial
The CNM reports functionally to the SM, has the authority over all the construction people
and principally co-ordinates all the Site activities interfacing the Discipline Managers.
The responsibilities of the CNM are as follows:
To update and develop the Construction Schedules in detail, optimizing sequences and limiting any overlapping;
To co-operate with the SPL in preparing or revising detailed construction schedules and defining priorities;
To participate in the definition for the construction strategy and construction procedures (e.g. Method Statements);
To implement and ensure the correct fulfillment of the Site safety program, including subcontractors’ activities;
To ensure that all Site personnel are aware of the specified quality standards;
To ensure that field requirements for staff and labor, equipment, tools and construction facilities are compatible with the overall plant schedule;
To enforce implementation of the construction plan and procedures (e.g. Method Statements) on the job Site;
To ensure that the plant is constructed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications and local regulations;
To organize split and delegation of responsibilities between the field supervision staff and ensure a clear understanding of each function;
To control construction progress and establish clearly defined actions and responsibilities and time-frame for their implementation to fulfill with construction schedule requirement;
To report any Non-Conformance (NC) to the SM and to the SQM;
Mechanical Completion control and reporting; together with the CM , to ensure congruence between the completion of Construction and Plant Commissioning;
To ensure that Mechanical Completion punch list items are satisfactorily closed;
Prepare his/her own section of the MPR.
