PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
Deliver qualitative, quantitative and sensory consumer research support to Product and Packaging Development by interacting in a multi-disciplinary business environment, providing a critical link between the Regional Category unit, and particularly the R&D team, and the consumer, ensuring the delivery of outstanding innovations to support the Category Innovation Portfolio.
MINIMUM CRITERIA
Bachelor’s Degree with psychology & or sociology (social science) as a major
18 months relevant experience in consumer research
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Understand and apply appropriate methodology to suit study objectives, share best practice amongst team/region and adapt and/or input into novel methodologies where necessary
Employ a sound understanding of the category, brands, competitive environment and technology to drive technical target setting through consumer insight generation in innovation and/or strategic understanding projects, including competitor benchmarking
Define and contribute to the research proposal for innovation, strategic or competitor benchmarking studies by engaging with the product or packaging development teams during the brief and proposal stages
Manage the research projects (logistics, briefing, agency selection, documentation and sourcing of relevant materials, etc)
Conduct the study (eg Product drop-off and recall, moderating focus groups etc) or lead agencies to execute the study according to the brief
Capture all relevant data, understand and apply appropriate analysis technique, interpret the results or lead agencies on report/analysis preparation.
Report and present the findings
Drive and represent regional consumer understanding in R&D (both in regional and category teams) through sharing learnings and organizing/engaging in
Lead consumer immersions aimed at bringing the R&D team close to consumers to better understand their needs, thus influencing future innovations
Recruit, manage and maintain panels (eg Sensory, technical panels, etc)
Ability to lead/represent R&D in innovation projects (Functional leadership role)
