COMBAT VESSELS DESIGN)

SALARY : OSD Salary Range: C.E.Tech-A R545 550 – R989 661 per annum
CENTRE : Naval Engineering Section, Simon’s Town.

REQUIREMENTS : Bachelor of Technology in Engineering (B Tech). Six years post qualification
Engineering Technologist experience required. Valid Driver’s License. Special
requirements: Proven experience in a Commercial shipyard / marine design
environment. Knowledge of Naval Engineering Administration. Experience in a
Marine / Engineering drawing office in a Marine Engineering discipline is
essential. Knowledge of Class and IMO rules and regulations for surface vessels
is essential. Knowledge of naval vessel design rules and naval store’s
procurement practices would be advantageous. Knowledge of refit procedures
would be advantageous. Knowledge of Procedures and Planning in a Design
environment is essential. Ability to compile and present technical reports in
English is essential. Proven problem solving skills and interpretation of analysis
is essential. Demonstrated proficiency in AutoCad / Caddie and MS Office suite
is essential. Proven strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Proven ability to

Navy (maintenance schedules. acceptance tests. etc). Supervising Logistic
Element Personnel. Co-ordinating the identification of support infrastructure
existing within the SA Navy. To lead a Logistic Element development team in
identifying and refining the logistic support necessary to satisfy the SA Navy’s
operational requirements. Accountable for the integrity of logistics data to be
loaded on the SA Navy’s logistic database.
