TB HIV Care (THC), in existence since 1929, is an internationally recognized non-profit organization. We

increased risk for HIV and TB, including adolescent girls and young women, sex workers and people who

Purpose

The Data Capturer will assist the Department of Health (DOH) facilities with data capturing and data management
activities; support the capturing, verification and reporting of [URL Removed] data at supported Health
Facilities, with a specific focus on TB data; ensure that all TB data is up to date and that any defaulters are
identified and reported to THC and facility staff responsible for tracking and tracing of patients.
Minimum requirements:
Matric
2 years’ experience working with DOH data and/or M&E systems (capturing data from patient records
to DHIS level)
2 years’ experience with [URL Removed] software, capturing and reporting
Ability to communicate in English and isiZulu
Valid driver’s license
Clear criminal record
Key Performance Areas:
Support facilities to ensure all relevant data is accurately captured into health information systems
e.g. DHIS, ETR, Sinjani, PERMIS, [URL Removed] Ensure facility generates daily, weekly and monthly [URL Removed] line list reports
Collect and verify data against facility weekly tally books to ensure data quality
Interact with colleagues and project management team to ensure fulfillment of project objectives
Interact with DOH and THC staff to capture relevant subject-related information
Ensure that weekly, monthly and ad-hoc reports are submitted on time
Filing and administrative duties as required
Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies:
Strong knowledge of HIV/AIDS and TB
Experience in data collection and capturing
Experience with data capturing or collection within the public health sector
Familiarity with the public health sector and District Health System
Previous exposure within an NGO/NPO environment
Good knowledge of health program data and information management
Intermediate level Microsoft Office proficiency
Good understanding of data management systems
Attention to detail, good time management, and monitoring skills
