Payroll Accountant
Location:
Midrand
Purpose of Role:
To support the Head of Human Resources and Group Financial Director in terms of the accuracy of the payroll and related output functions.  Review policies and procedures in terms of all payroll related issues, and ensure compliance to all relevant legislative and audit requirements.
Key Responsibilities of this Role:
•   Check payroll input for accuracy and completeness via trend analysis reports
•   Advise HR Manager and FD on payroll related matters
•   Ensure all payroll risks are addressed
•   Review payroll processes consistently and ensure that they are supported by documented policies and are in line with •      approvals framework
•   Review reconciliation of VIP reports to general ledger, providing all relevant explanations
•   Involvement in Share incentive scheme administration – sending out employee statements
•   Review processes around provident fund claims and ensure correct documentation is kept on file
•   The incumbent will also interact with the Finance and Human Resources teams on ad hoc projects
Critical Requirements:
Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
•   B Com degree or studying towards one is essential
•   Experience working in a payroll accountant position is important
•   Knowledge of PAYE and statutory regulations (Intermediate/Advanced)
•   Strong computer literacy skills, especially a proficiency in excel
•   Knowledge of VIP will be considered a value add
•   High degree of professionalism, strong work ethic
•   The Payroll Accountant should possess the ability and confidence to maintain secrecy regarding employee information •     and financial data
•   Superb attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and deliver in a fast paced, dynamic environment
•   Effective communications and interpersonal skills
•   The incumbent should possess broad payroll experience including familiarity with VIP or similar payroll software, share     incentive schemes

Group Financial Manager
Location:
Midrand
Purpose of Role:
The Group Financial Manager will be reporting directly to the Group Financial Director/Chief Financial Officer. The individual will have a staff compliment of 35 people to manage in the head office finance team, with indirect management of the regional financial teams. and will have involvement in the entire business.
Key Responsibilities of this Role:
•  Will be an invitee to divisional exco meeting, audit and risk committee meeting and internal ERP committees
•  Prepare monthly pack and all other reports required by management
•  Prepare reports for inclusion in the board pack to Board Members & Senior Management
•  Preparation of information for audit and risk committees and board meetings
•  Managing and maintaining the accounting system and integration
•  Review of creditors reconciliations and authorizing creditor payments
•  Manage cash flow, investments and maximize productivity of the company’s financial resources
•  Liaise and assist external auditors to complete and maintain the full accounting function
•  Liaise and manage internal auditors in their value added function
•  Implement and maintain IFRS policies and procedures
•  Prepare financial reports to the CFO and comment on the financial issues within each department
•  Internal training and lecturing to Staff on Accounting Principles and other related topics
•  Management reporting on Income statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, variance analysis, Divisional reporting
•  Preparation of Annual Financial Statements and Interim Results
•  Management of year-end Audit
•  Treasury management, including supplier/creditor relationships
•  Involvement in compliance of the group
•  Involvement in forecasting and budget preparation and consolidation
•  Ensure that all External Group Financial reporting is in compliance with the rules and requirements of the Johannesburg
•  Stock Exchange and that all changes to existing guidelines are proactively addressed, brought to the attention of Group
•  Exco and the Group Audit Committee
•  Oversee Asset financing
•  Managing controls, policies and procedures with the group which are financially related
•  Maintain and improve high standards of internal control
•  Special projects and ad-hoc assignments
Critical Requirements:
Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
•  B.Com / B.Compt Degree and CA (SA)
•  Completed articles are essential
•  12 – 24 months as an audit manager in an audit firm as previous experience would be a bonus
•  As part of the above, at least 18 months post articles experience in a management role and a full finance function
•  Up to date Accounting and taxation experience – must have been involved in preparation of IFRS AFS and taxation
calculations and returns
•  Technical and compliance exposure – involvement in internal audit processes
•  Hands-on processing and reporting experience on any ERP system, preference will be given to Microsoft Great Plains
