Department Of Correctional Service 2017 Internships are Open

The Department of Correctional Services (DCS) is inviting applications for its 2017 internships from unemployed South African graduates in various fields of study.

Graduates with qualifications including National N Diplomas, National Diplomas and Degrees are invited to apply.

Interns will be based at various regional offices, management areas and head office of the DCS for a duration of 12 months and will be paid a monthly stipend of R4000.

Applicants should be unemployed South African graduates between the ages of 18 and 35 years.

Candidates will have to meet the following minimum requirements:

• Artisan – Qualifications required: National Diploma in Spray Painting / Brick Laying / Plumbing / Electrical / Upholstery / Ceramics / Welding / Boiler Makers /Cabinet Making / Fitting and Turning
• Agriculture – Qualifications required: Degree or National Diploma in Animal Production or Plant Production
• Arts – Qualifications required: Degree or National Diploma in Fine Art / Music / Drama
• Communication – Qualifications required: Degree or National Diploma in Events Management / Marketing / Graphic Design / Public Relations
• Community Development – Qualifications required: Degree or National Diploma in Community Development
• Correctional Service Management – Qualifications required:Degree or National Diploma in Correctional Services Management
• Criminology – Qualifications required: Degree or National Diploma in Criminology / Penology
• Education – Qualifications required:Degree or National Diploma in Technical / Adult Education and Training / Mathematics and Science / Commerce
• Employee Relations – Qualifications required:Degree or National Diploma in Labour Law
• Engineering – Qualifications required: Degree or National Diploma in Electrical / Architecture / Mechanical Engineering / Civil Engineering / Industrial Engineering / Quantity Surveying / Construction Project Management / Property Management / Sewerage and Water & Sanitation
• Financial or Management – Qualifications required: Accounting / Internal Auditing / Taxation Degree or National Diploma in Financial or Management Accounting / Internal Auditing / Taxation / Finance
• Human Resources Management – Qualifications required: Degree or National Diploma in Human Resources Management
• Information Technology – Qualifications required: Degree or National Diploma in Information Technology
• Journalism – Qualifications required:Degree or National Diploma in Journalism Legal Services – Qualifications required: Degree in Law or LLB
• Library Science – Qualifications required: Degree or National Diploma in Library Science
• Nutrition or Food Service Management – Qualifications required: Degree or National Diploma in Catering / Food Services Management / Hospitality
• Occupational Health and Safety – Qualifications required: Degree or National Diploma in Safety Management or Environmental Health
• Policy Development – Qualifications required: Degree or National Diploma in Policy Development
• Project Management – Qualifications required: National Diploma in Project Management
• Public Administration and Management – Qualifications required: Degree or National Diploma in Public Administration / Public Management / Office Management
• Spiritual Care – Qualifications required: Degree or National Diploma in Theology
• Sports Management – Qualifications required:Degree or National Diploma in Biokinetics / Sports Management
• Supply Chain Management – Qualifications required: Degree or National Diploma in Supply Chain Management / Purchasing Management / Logistics / Acquisition Management

Applicants are advised that artisan and agriculture internships are only offered in regions, specifically at Management Areas.

Similarly, Graphic Design, Internal Audit, Journalism and Policy Development internships are only offered at Head Office in Pretoria.
