1. PRINCIPAL MILITARY INTELLIGENCE OFFICER 2 POSTS, REF NO: DI/13/02

SALARY : R227 802 per annum, Level 8
CENTRE : Directorate: Defence Intelligence (Directorate Vetting), Pretoria.
REQUIREMENTS : A recognised BA Degree/Diploma in Human/Social Science is essential, NQF
05-06/07 (Preferable). Applicants with prior learning either by means of
experience or alternative courses may also apply. Special requirements (skills
needed):Computer literacy, Ability to analyse information in an objective and
decisive manner. Communication skills. Valid code 08 drivers licence.
Completion of the Senior Intelligence, Counter Intelligence and Vetting courses
will be a recommendation. Proficiency in English (read, write, speak). Must be
able to obtain a Top Secret Security Clearance within a year.
DUTIES : Conduct vetting fieldwork interviews or vetting evaluation and documentary
enquiries in order to collect relevant information to make necessary vetting
decisions. Be able to process and report all relevant information which was
collected during the interviews. Compiling of all files according to the correct
filing sequence. Compare recommendation to existing vetting policy and vetting
norms. Evaluate each reference according to own impressions and consider
objectivity and reliability. Re-evaluate follow-up fieldwork. Compile monthly
statistics. Assist with application and maintenance of an effective administrative
system.

CENTRE : Directorate: Defence Intelligence (SA Defence Intelligence College) (SADIC),
Monument Park.
REQUIREMENTS : A recognised BA Degree/Diploma in (OD ETD) Occupationally Directed
Education Training and Development. NQF 05/06 (Preferable). Applicants with
prior learning either by means of experience or alternative training courses may
also apply. Special requirements (skills needed): To facilitate leaning for defence
intelligence practitioners studying at SADIC in the field of Functional Training.
Computer literacy, Basic Information management skills, financial skills and
communication skills. English language proficiency. Proficiency in English (read,
write, speak). Must be able to obtain a Top Secret Security Clearance within a
year.
DUTIES : Establish and maintain a quality management system at SADIC to ensure
continued accreditation as training provider. Manage the accreditation of
learning programmes. Establish and maintain a risk management system.
Assist in the management of the budgeting and control functions at the college.
Provide suitable financial advice for decision-making and action. To be
responsible and recommend own personnel for development and functional
courses.
