PRINCIPAL INSPECTOR: DIVING ACTIVITIES 2 POSTS REF NO: HR

Directorate: Occupational Health and Hygiene
SALARY : R337 998 per annum
CENTRE : Head Office
REQUIREMENTS : Three year relevant tertiary qualification relating to Occupational Health and
Hygiene. Bachelor Degree / National Diploma in Diving will be an advantage. A
four year diving exposure and some knowledge and experience of commercial
diving safety and training. Code EB valid driver’s license. Water skills. Ability to
satisfy the Department of Labour’s medical and survival training requirements. Physically fit. Knowledge: Departmental Policies and procedures, Batho Pele Principles, Diving, Occupational Health and Safety Act .

Literacy , Project management , Negotiation Facilitation , Planning and
Organising , Problem solving, Interviewing, listening and observation, Presentation.

 

DUTIES : Formulation of policy and legislation. Inspection, investigation of accidents and
incidents. Enforcement of statutory requirements. Provision of information,
guidance and advice and attending industry events / shows. Identify, develop
and promote good practice with Stakeholders. Monitor diver competence
assessment organisations.
