PERMIT OFFICERS X 6 (1YEAR CONTRACTUAL APPOINTMENT)
SALARY : R 170 799 (Plus 37%) per annum (Total Salary Package R 233 994.60)
CENTRE : Cape Town

REQUIREMENTS : Applicants must be in possession of a Bachelor’s degree/National Diploma in
Environmental/Biological/Agricultural Sciences or Matric coupled with 10 years’
experience in natural resources management

 

DUTIES : Deliver service in the Permit Office with regard to the issuing of permits for the invasive
alien species, in terms of the NEMBA Regulations and the risk assessments process.
Serve as the first contact point for external and internal clients with regard to invasive alien
species permits. Conduct literature searches to ensure correct scientific names are
allocated to permit applications. Liaise and give advice to stake holders pertinent for the
permitting of invasive alien species. Establish and maintain a register of all permits,
including integrated permits, issued by that issuing Authority all risk assessments that
have been carried out in terms of sections 65(2) and 71(2) of the National Environmental
Management: Biodiversity Act, 2004
