SALARY : A basic salary of R337 998 to R398 139 per annum (Level 10). In addition, a

REQUIREMENTS : Representivity: Coloured, Indian, White Male / Female candidates are
encouraged to apply. A 3 year Diploma/ Degree in Public Administration or an
equivalent NQF level 6 qualification in the Secretarial field with 1-2 years’
experience in Office Administration providing support to Senior Management
and/or a Grade 12 qualification with 5 years relevant experience. 1-2 years’
experience in Office Administration providing support to Senior Management.
A post graduate qualification will serve as an added advantage. Knowledge of
Office Administration, Public Service Regulatory Framework. Knowledge and
understanding of Departmental policies and regulations, Computer literate.
Client orientation and customer focus. A valid drivers’ licence, willingness to
travel extensively and working extended hours is essential.

register. Control the flow of correspondence and monitor target dates and
turnaround times. Consolidate reports and quality assurance e.g. progress
reports, monthly reports, quarterly and annual reports on performance
management, budget planning and strategic planning. Log submissions/
reports and make notes and/ or recommendations. Receive and record all
incoming and outgoing documents/ correspondence. Oversee the postal,
messenger services and cleaning services.

DUTIES : The successful candidate will be responsible for, amongst others, the
following specific tasks: Manage effective operations within the Unit. Provide
effective secretarial support services to the Deputy Director-General’s
including extensive diary management. Liaise and interact with various
Departmental business Units regarding enquiries, queries and any
information requested from the Unit. Receive, record and compile realistic
schedules of appointments for the DDG’s. Handle the procurement of
standard items such as stationary, refreshments etc. activities for the DDG.
