CATERER 34 POSTS BRANCH: State Protocol & Consular Services

SALARY : R158 985 per annum

REQUIREMENTS : Applicants must be in possession of a senior certificate / standard 10 / grade 12 (NQF level 4 qualification) 1 – 2 years’ experience in Hospitality services with specific reference to catering / culinary OR Applicants must be in possession of a junior certificate / standard 8 / grade 10 (NQF level 2 qualification) 3 – 5 years’ experience in Hospitality services with specific reference to catering / culinary Competencies: Communication skills; Planning; Interpersonal skills; Client service focus; Team player; Ability to attend to detail; Ability to work under pressure.

DUTIES : The successful candidate’s primary function will be to provide catering service to guests at the Guesthouse; Prepare food and beverages for dignitaries and delegates; Implement and maintain good hygiene in the kitchen and dining halls/banquet rooms; Serve food during functions and to guests in the Guesthouse; Check quantity and quality of stock received and notify Supervisor of deficiencies;

Where meals are provided for off-site venues, oversee the packaging and transportation of the meals in the absence of the Chef; Ensure that the appropriate clothing, including head wear, is worn at all times; Cleaning and safekeeping of all equipment.
