Disabled People South Africa (DPSA) is a nonprofit and democratic cross-disability body made up of member organisations of disabled people that mobilises and advocate for their rights for attainment of equal opportunity. DPSA is recognised as the national assembly of disabled people by Disabled People International (DPI), which has observer status in the United Nations.

Job Title: Provincial Administrator
Job Location: Western Cape

Responsibilities:

  • Office Management
  • Typing of minutes, letters, reports and any other documents
  • Capturing of membership
  • Filling of office documents and ensuring that filling system is kept in line with policies and procedures of the organisation
  • Handling of daily correspondence and ensuring that correspondence is dealt with timeously
  • Supervise the cleaning person
  • Order and manage stationary in line with the allocated budget
  • Bookings and organising of meetings
  • Manage and reconciliation of petty cash
  • Follow up with regard to appointments of the Provincial Project Coordinator
  • Strong passion for development of people with disabilities
  • Strong background on disability activism

Requirements:

  • Administrative knowledge
  • A minimum of a Grade 10 Certificate
  • Certificate in Office Administration
  • Minimum of two years proven experience in similar position
  • Ability to work independently and in a team and able to forge relationships with partners and funders
  • Communication (written and verbal) skills and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of disability issues and the disability environment
  • Minimum of two years as an office administrator
  • Ability to work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines
  • Computer skills, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Experience of working for an NGO at similar position preferred
  • Driver’s license would be an advantage
  • Report writing skills
