As Africa’s leading producer and marketer of spirits, fine wines, ciders and RTDs, Distell is committed to skills development in the country and the upliftment of the skills base in our industry.

We are committed to the implementation of the National Skills Development Strategy and have gone beyond compliance in the implementation of the Skills Development Act.

We are therefore proud of the wonderful honour bestowed to Distell by the Foodbev SETA for 2013 – 2014 period.

Distell received an Award for excellence, in the large food and beverage manufacturing companies category, for the enrolment rate of unemployed learners on internships and assisting with placement of learners.

Distell offers a 1 year internship programme where students from around the world can gain work experience in various fields of studies.

The programme runs from 1 February till 31 January of every year and students wishing to apply should upload their CV here on our website.

Recruitment takes place during September to December of each year and students are welcome to visit our website during this period to view the advertisements.

We recruit students who are in their last year of study and offer them the opportunity to acquire workplace experience relevant to their academic qualification.

Our internships are represented in the fields of:

  • Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical) Quality/Management/Food Technology Production Management Operations Management
  • Distell also offers graduates the opportunity to gain practical experience through its work experience programme. This is offered to graduates in the fields of:
  • Logistics/Supply Chain Marketing Sales Human Resources
  • Distell has received accreditation from SAICA to offer a 3 year TOPP programme for Accounting graduates.

To qualify for selection and participation in any of these programme, candidates must satisfy the following criteria:

  • Sound academic records Final year of obtaining tertiary qualification – degree / diploma (For internship) Computer literacy – Word, Excel, PowerPoint;
  • Sound communication and presentation skills;
  • Effective time management;
  • Ability to multi-task and perform under pressure;
  • Ability to work in a team; Driver’s License would be beneficial;
  • South African citizen;

Successful interns will be expected to enter into a 12 month contract commencing on 1 February of each year.
