Cost Accountant (Stellenbosch based) with CIMA qualification and good experience in project costing required to manage all financial aspects of multiple installation and operational projects, to ensure they are delivered on time and within budget.

Job Summary:
Duties & Responsibilities:
Reconciliation of projects
For all sized projects performed, the Cost Accountant should do a detailed reconciliation of the cost make-up of the projects as quoted by the sales specialist, called the quoted costs.
The Cost Accountant should track the actual costs booked against the project and compare it to the quoted costs to identify any variations against the quoted costs.
Negative variations between the quoted costs and the actual costs (cost higher than budgeted) needs to be clarified and understood. Such a variation could result in a variance quote to a customer.
Loss making projects needs to be analysed and reported
The Cost Accountant must track all projects to completeness to ensure that projects are invoiced as soon as the project is signed off.
The Cost Accountant should gain a detailed understanding of the costs associated with the Project to initiate any potential costs savings on project. Any potential cost savings needs to be highlighted to the project leader or project manager.
As the cost accountant becomes more familiar with the costing of solutions to clients, the cost accountant must provide input into quotes or review quotes for his or her input.
Prepare Revenue and cost forecasts
Identify areas of cost improvement in the business across procurement, materials management and sub-contractors

Desired Experience & Qualification:
CA(SA), B Comm or B Tech Degree or similar
CIMA qualification / certification essential,
At least 4 years’ experience
Advanced Excel
Experience in a project costing environment important,
Knowledge of telecommunications beneficial,
Absolute attention to detail,
Must be able to track and trend and identify anomalies

Profitability reporting is critical in this position
