Purpose of the Job

Develop the sales strategy, in collaboration with the Executive Sales & Marketing to achieve sales targets in all channels in the region.
Execute the strategy and business plan and measure growth and performance of all Sales Channels against targets in the region ensuring alignment and consistency with corporate strategy and products and services offerings
Be innovative to achieve sales revenue and acquisition targets in Formal, informal and CBS on a consistent basis in line with defined budgets and the setting of channel and regional specific KPIs and performance targets
Develop and manage sales and business opportunities and relationships in both existing and in new channels including but not limited to Government, SME, Corporate and Main Market while ensuring alignment with corporate strategy and growth objectives
Vendor manage and oversee the field marketing KPI’s in the region ensuring performance, increased visibility and equity of the Cell C brand, improved reporting, improved relationships with all stakeholders leading to increased growth in the target markets

Key Duties & Responsibilities

•Define and execute the regional sales & marketing strategy in support of the overall commercial growth strategy to achieve the sales revenue target.
•Define the targets for all channels and align and allocate specific targets to department and individuals
•Monitor, measure and report as required the achievement of regional sales revenue and acquisition targets on a consistent basis and in line with the national Sales strategy
•Manage and motivate sales teams within the region to boost sales campaigns via regional channel marketing and trade activations
•Be Cell C’s regular senior manager presence in the trade and be active across all channels including formal and informal
Field Marketing
•Vendor manage the regional KPI with the vendor in the region to meet or exceed field marketing business requirements as defined by the contract and the cyclical brief.
•Collaborate closely with Channel and Sales Operations to ensure alignment between regional channel marketing activities with the roll out of associated marketing collaterals and point of sale material in store
Channel Management
•Manage the relationship with the Head Offices of Channel Partners located in the region in to drive the Key Account Managers and Channel Heads to achieve targets
•Manage the relationships and performance management of the Franchise and XSP key accounts, implementing a consistent scorecard, monitoring sales/service targets and providing training support where required
SME, Corporate and Government Markets
•Provide expert insight into the regional SME/Corporate/Government markets and oversee the development of new business opportunities, including new accounts and new partners while ensuring alignment with the overall strategy to achieve sales targets
•Identify product requirements based on regional market knowledge and collaborate with the Product team to implement products to satisfy market demands and grow sales.
•Grow and establish the SME/Corporate/ Government segment function, growing the customer base execution of account management and tailored business solutions for the segment to achieve targets
Cost & Budget Management
•Prepare, control and administer the yearly budgets for the Operations department
•Develop and implement policies to achieve savings
•Manage cost tracking and variation reports
•Approve expenditure for the department
•Inform Executive timeously of potential over-spend
•Make recommendations for budget-affecting change requests
•Approve expenditure for the department
Health and Safety
•Strictly apply and adhere to Cell C Health and Safety procedures and rules
•Manage conformance to Legislation and Cell C Health, Safety and Environmental standards
•Manage, identify and minimize Cell C’s exposure to operational risk
•Monitor, investigate and report all health and safety matters and incidents
•Ensure the appointment of the SHE representative, First-aiders, evacuation marshals and establishing / maintenance of SHE Committees as per legislation and Cell C requirements
Staff Management
•Recruit employees; assign and direct work, oversee their development, identify training needs and maintain staff competence
•Establish and evaluate Key Performance Indicators
•Establish, evaluate and guide the department’s Employee Performance Management programme
•Provide an advisory, support and mentorship function
•Initiate the appropriate Labour Relation action required within section
•Uphold HR policies and procedures
Perform any other Related duties as requested by Management

Skills & Experience

10 years front line sales management experience, across all channels including key accounts, government / informal/corporate / SME/ franchise/ and field marketing.
5 years senior sales management experience including the management of a large team
2 yrs experience in working in a vendor management environment
Proven track record of achievement of sales and revenue targets
5 years Mobile telecommunications experience

Educational Requirements
Degree or National Diploma in Commerce/ Financial/ Marketing /Business Management
Or Recognition of Prior Learning of a minimum of 10 yrs relevant management experience of which at least 8 is at a Senior Manager level.
