Purpose To provide technical support in the field of Electrical & Instrumentation and execute improvement projects
Duties & Responsibilities
• Supports Electrical & Instrument function with expert knowledge and fault finding capacity
• Manages projects, performs design work and participates in project teams
• Carries out investigations into operational problems
• Commissioning of new machines where required
• Coaches Engineering section in fault finding techniques/knowledge of the system
• Ensures the integrity of software used on the plants
• Assists Section Engineers in preparation and control of electrical/instrument maintenance budget
• Manages the Electrical/Instrument drawings as per drawing office procedures
Required Qualification & Skills
• Working knowledge of SAP and MS Office
• In depth knowledge of PLC, variable speed drives and instrument controls
• Ability to read drawings and create sketches
• B Sc Electrical or Electronic Engineering or B Tech Electrical (i.e. straight from university with great marks) or Electronic Engineering with a 60% average for their final year and can have no experience.
• S4 Electrical or Electronic Engineering with 4 years relevant experience, , some design experience as well as some PLC/Scada knowledge
• N6 Electrical or Electronic Engineering with 6 years relevant experience, some design experience as well as some PLC/Scada knowledge. A trade test an advantage
• Persons busy studying towards any of these qualifications above with 7 years relevant experience that can proof that they have the necessary skills and have designed and implemented systems similar in complexity to those systems used by AEL shall also be considered.
