Electronic Systems Manager Opportunity at Distell

Applications are invited for the above mentioned position to be based in the Maintenance department at Secondary production, Springs.
The successful candidate will report to the Maintenance Manager.

Key Performance Areas would include, but are not limited to:
? Ensuring the continuous integrity of all electronic, electrical, instrumentation and mechanical control systems and plant information systems required for effective operation of the production plant.
? Ensure updated inventory of all electronic control systems.
? Ensure current backups for electronic systems in designated server location.
? Manage access to electronic systems i.e. password protection, version control software.
? Coordinate the maintenance of electronic hardware components and electronic panels.
? Compile and maintain critical electronic spares lists.
? Manage automation and control modification projects.
? Fault finding on electronic systems.
? Maintain integrity of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
? Coordinate maintenance of plant computer equipment (Scada pcs, plant information servers) in conjunction with the IT department.
? Coordinate maintenance and expansion of Industrial Network infrastructure in conjunction with the IT department.
? Adhere to relevant Distell Risk, Health and Safety procedures and statutory requirements.
? Compile and manage budget and project schedule.
? To manage performance and people development within the Electrical team.
? Managing maintenance projects and feasibility studies.
? Develop and Management of quality systems (ISO 9001/2000) in responsibility area.
? Drive innovation and business improvements in support of operational goals.
The successful candidate must have the following experience/skills and qualifications:
? Relevant tertiary qualification: B. Engineering or Instrumentation degree or National Higher Engineering or Instrumentation Diploma. Be willing to additionally qualify to local legislation.
? Proven track record of working in a FMCG environment.
? Minimum of 5 years’ experience in maintenance of electronics systems
? Minimum of 5 years’ experience in plc programming (Siemens)
? Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
? Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Industrial networks (Profibus/Net, EtherNet).
? Computer literacy e.g.: MS Excel (advanced level), MS Word (advanced level), and SAPR3 (beneficial).
? Strong Management set skills (Planning, organising, control and delegation)
? People management and leadership skills.
? Ability to form a close understanding of the customers’ needs, both current and anticipated.
? Ability to create and deliver sustainable, tailored customer propositions to provide world-class services.
? Proven problem-solving skills with a solid record of problems solved.
? The successful candidate must be innovative and drive best practices.
? Applicants should have good written and verbal communication skills.
