Job Title: Producer: Checkpoint
Location: Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa

Job Summary:
The purpose of the job is to research, plan, script and supervise the filming and editing of a 23-minute long insert monthly.

1.Producing
•Have and develop contacts who can feed you unique stories.
•Come up with unique, well-researched story ideas and be able to develop them visually.
•Conduct in-depth research before conducting interviews.
•Ask direct, pointed question that will assist you to hold those implicated in your stories to account.
•Write strong scripts that match pictures filmed by the cameraman.
•Go through interviews and visuals after shoots to ensure that you structure you stories in a way that showcases the most powerful shots, sequences and soundbites.
•Produce at least one strong original insert a month.
•Adjust to Checkpoint’s lean operating model to ensure that you meet expected output levels at all times.
•Have the ability to secure exclusive interviews and/or access.
•Ensure you enhance Checkpoint’s standing in the eyes of the public as a show that broadcasts unique content not available elsewhere.
•Provide direction in edit and on shoots.
•Submit scripts as per the deadline set by your manager.

2.Producer provides strong, in-depth content that is of superior journalistic quality and complies with all journalistic ethics and editorial standards.

5.Producer is punctual.
6.Reporter does thorough research

Requirements:
Education:
Relevant Television/Filming Qualification
Languages:Business English

Experience:
A minimum 1 years relevant experience
