eNCA (eNews Channel Africa): Desk Producer Internship Programme

eNews Channel Africa is looking for a Desk Producer Intern: ENews IsiZulu, in Cape Town. The intern will report to Head of Terrestrial News Services.

 

Key Performance Areas

Translating scripts from English to IsiZulu

Voicing and packaging news inserts

Printing news scripts and rundowns

Liaise with output desk, logistics and video editors

Assisting Output Editors and Bulletin Producers in managing rundowns

Call reporters, police, emergency services or any other news maker as required by the output editor

 

Requirements:

Journalism Degree or National Diploma (will consider those requiring 6-month experiential training)

Excellent isiZulu writing skills

An exceptional grasp of current affairs

Wide-ranging general knowledge

Excellent command of the English language

Must be meticulous, accurate and passionate

Must show exceptional initiative

Ability to work independently and without supervision

Ability to work under extreme pressure

 

Notes:

This is a 6-month contract position

The successful candidate will be required to work irregular and long hours, including weekends, public holidays and standby shifts.

Due to irregular shifts, own transport is preferable
