Our Europe Division is looking for a NON PRODUCTION PURCHASING COUNTRY MANAGER based at its Emission Control Technolodies Site at Cape Town, South Africa.

The role of a Non Production Purchasing Counrty Manager (NPB) is to lead the team of regional buyers within the country or countries he/she is responsible for, with the following main missions:
▪ Internal customer network :
o Develop a network with the internal customers of the country to explain the NPP strategy, identify new and potential improvements to integrate into the commodity strategies that will facilitate the realization of the Groups commodity projects.
o Interact at all levels of the organization with capabilities to develop detailed presentations to Management in order to get understanding, agreement and support
o Contribute to the P&L results through both commodity actions and regional actions


▪ Commodity actions :
o Apply the commodity strategies defined by the Commodity Managers, in order to facilitate the implementation of the negotiated commodity contracts.
o Participate in commodity projects, and manage the integration through the regional buyers being consistent with the commodity strategy.
o Contribute to the update of the Commodity Strategy by participating with market analysis under the Commodity Managers coordination


▪ Regional actions :
o Optimize the local purchases not managed by the commodity team actions and not covered by commodity contracts : Consolidate recurrent local needs, globalize competitive bids, negotiate contracts at regional level, while taking charge of local one-shot projects.
o Guarantee supplier contracts are consistent, involving the legal department when necessary or following their guidelines, in order to protect the company.
o Manage the supplier panel and the supplier performance follow-up, in coordination with the Commodity Manager for commodity suppliers
o Lead or contribute to cost reduction actions beyond only price negotiations with the internal customer departments: deployment of best practices, rationalization, consumption reduction…


▪ Process, procedure & tools :
o Run the purchase order administrative process and optimize administrative efficiency using the best IT software capabilities
o Guarantee the compliance of the purchasing process with FCP rules in the various phases: competitive bids and supplier selection, purchase order process, as well as with the Code of Ethics.
o Apply the methodologies and the tools defined for the Purchasing department.


Qualifications :
The ideal candidate will have/be:
Master’s degree in engineering with a specialisation in international purchasing
Minimum 3 years experience in the same level of position in an industrial environment
Results oriented with strong written and oral communications skills
Ability to work in a matrixed organisation
Leadership and charisma
International mind set, overseas experience a plus
