Vacancy exists for an Human Capital Generalist stationed at our Polokwane Branch. The position will report to the Branch Manager. The overall purpose of this position is to ensure that all client’s security needs are always efficiently and professionally adhered to and met.
Key Areas (not totally inclusive):
- Implement and administer employee policies and promote positive employee relations
- Manage and monitor performance-related issues and implement changes that could increase productivity
- Provide recruiting assistance and candidate screening and assessment
- Select the most qualified candidates and maintain relationships with employment agencies
- Work towards improving company policies and procedures
- Handle termination-related matters and prepare termination and severance letters
- Provide training and support to other team members of the human resources department
- Be well-versed in laws and regulations regarding hiring and firing
- Submitting a monthly Management report on recruitment statistics.
- Induction of Senior Management, Specialist functions, Administrative staff.
- Assist with HR function: updating of personal files, PSSPF Claims, Labour Claims etc.
- Handling CCMA matters including representation at the CCMA / Labour Court
- Management of internal Industrial Relations processes
- Provide Industrial Relations support and advice to line managers.
- Present Industrial Relations training to line managers / supervisors as and when required.
- Provide and maintain information / statistics / trends and reports to Senior Management regarding, Disciplinary Hearings, Dismissals, CCMA / Labour Court cases.
- Ensure compliance with the department of labour and other related requirements.
- Ensure all disciplinary matters and processes are effective.
- Assist and guide managers with disciplinary matters and poor performance counselling.
- Liaise with external labour consultants regarding relevant labour matters.
Qualifications, experience and other competencies required:
- Matric certificate.
- At least 2 years’ experience(Preferably in the Security Industry)
- Should have full knowledge and understanding of the Security Industry – PSIRA registration, grading etc.,
- Knowledge and expertise in HR policies and procedures
- Significant knowledge of the hiring process
- A strong understanding of best practices and current regulations specific to HR
- Excellent judgment and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge about conflict management
- Strong decision-making skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficiency in software like MS Office and Google Docs
- Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential
- Incumbents should be prepared to work extended hours.
- Experience in Human Resources will be advantage
- Computer literate.
- No criminal record.
- People management experience.
- Administration, interpersonal communication and client liaison skills are required.
- Strong planning, organizational skills as well as good interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
- Computer literacy on Microsoft Programs.
- Own reliable transport and valid & endorsed Driver’s License is required
