To assist the department in ensuring that the approved authorised Financial Services Providers (FSPs) and their Compliance Officers comply with the relevant legislation. The person appointed to this position will report to the Departmental Head.

Job Summary:
Key Performance Areas:
•Manage a team of analysts that perform desk based and on-site supervision following a risk based supervisory approach;
•Monitor international trends and developments in the financial services industry to inform the Investment Providers risk based supervisory approach;
•Assist with the development, implementation and maintenance of a risk based conduct of business
supervisory framework;
•Manage the human resources of the team effectively and efficiently (train, develop, monitor, lead and assess performance of staff);
•Engage with various divisions within the FSCA on operational and strategic matters as and when required;
•Engage with Investment Providers and compliance officers on various supervisory matters;
•Assist the Departmental Head by recommending and implementing changes to the regulatory framework and policy within Investment Providers department and the FSCA;
•Engage with industry bodies and offices of respective Ombuds on various conduct of business of FSPs and other supervisory matters; and
•Perform any other tasks as delegated by the Departmental Head.

Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in commerce, law or related field, with at least 5 years relevant work experience within the financial services industry, 3 of which must be at management level. The candidate must have good knowledge of Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act, the Financial Sector Regulation Act, 9 of 2017 (FSR Act) and other relevant financial sector laws. Understanding of the collective investment schemes industry will also be an added advantage. The successful candidate must be able to display good planning, organisational and leadership skills.
