Client Liaison:
Ensuring that all the Parties understands what recording Procedures to follow in daily activities.
Understanding and implementing the specifications to all the Parties’ satisfaction.
General Site Management Duties:
Finalising the Plant requirements for the Site by examining the allowable, considering Site conditions and selecting Plant to suit the nature of the work as specified.
Finalising the manpower resources required for the Project.
Ensuring availability of materials by locating borrow pits within the allowable distances, action the placing of orders for materials required and stipulating delivery dates.
Ensuring a motivated and productive workforce by selecting the right personnel for the job and meeting with the Foreman or Supervisors on a regular basis.
Increasing safety awareness and productivity by ensuring that the safety rules are implemented through the Safety Officers to monitor all safety aspects on site while doing their normal daily duties.
Attending Safety meetings with the Site Agents as a representative of the workforce on a regular basis.
Adhering to and abiding by the principles laid down in the Employment Code of Fraser Alexander.
Provide ‘on the job’ training by identifying areas where individuals lack knowledge and/or skills, physically showing them how to do the tasks and encouraging them to practice under strict supervision.
Engage on quality or testing with relevant engineers.
Employee Relations:
Recognising, addressing and resolving issues/problems among/between employees.
Promoting, supporting and facilitating teamwork and harmony between all employees by promoting and fostering a positive, visible teamwork attitude.
Monthly Duties:
Agreeing on final machine breakdown times and total hours worked for the month with the Plant.
Ensuring that all extra work done during the month is monitored and submitted to the Quantity Surveyor.
Agreeing machine hours of external plant with representatives.
Discussing plant commitments for the next month with the Site Agent.
Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS:
Grade 12
In-house course on production management or soil Testing certificate will be advantageous
EXPERIENCE:
15 years experience within a Civil Engineering environment, with 5 years at a supervisory level
SKILLS, QUALITIES AND ABILITIES:
People Management
Good Communication Skills
Problem Solving
Experience, knowledge and understanding of civil engineering site requirements
Very sound knowledge of safety and quality control procedures
