Job Title: Dam Operator
Location: Rustenburg, North West, South Africa

Job Summary:
To utilize required skills and knowledge by ensuring tailings dam is operated and maintained as per the required specifications, and implement all standard safety practices to ensure health and safety of the employees whist carrying out tailings operations in a safe manner.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage depiction targets and standards

Execute deposition plans

Plan & manage materials and labour

Setting out work instructions

Quality assurance

Maintaining discipline and standards of team work

Liaising with plant on a daily basis. Keeping and insuring, continuous and accurate record of all operational data and incidents

Maintain a healthy and safe working environment in accordance with Occupational Health & Safety Act, Environmental and Waste management guidelines as well as the Mine Health and Safety Act.

Supervision of a labour force, including operational activities. This includes HR related issues as well as positive discipline

The operation is of a 24/7 nature

Requirements:
SKILLS, QUALITIES and ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Must be able to communicate in English

QUALIFICATIONS:

Grade 12

Must be able to read and write

Supervision training will be advantageous

Legal liability training

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum 3 years in Mining Environment

Experience in cyclone and spigot-ting in Tailings operations

Knowledge of the Rustenburg Roads will be an added advantage

Carry out daily production and operational plans and implementation

Ability to work without Supervision

LEGALS REQUIRED:

A valid driver’s license with PDP and advance driving will be advantageous

Must be able to go through all client screenings

Must be medically fit
