SERVER ENVIRONMENT: Fujitsu SA req. Mid-range 3rd level Support Engineers for Remote Infrastructure Management operation in RSA to support its global customers. IT related Diploma/Certification min 3 yrs exp, to provide either Wintel/UNIX/Linux/VMWare administration. Strong problem-solving skills. Work based on globally agreed contracts. 24×7 support. Certification required.
Mid-range Engineer minimum requirement, 2-5 years server experience.
Database experience will be advantageous
Matric + Qualification/similar studies in MCSE/UNIX/LINUX/VMware (server experience & currently studying towards accreditation will be considered)
VMware and AS400 experience will be an added advantage
Working understanding of what a service level agreements is (IT environment)
Experience in other technologies will be an added advantage
Experienced with multiple hardware platforms and operating systems
Flexible to work longer hours when required
The role is 3rd line server support, based on globally agreed contracts. Senior Engineer > 5 years experience;
Mid-Range Engineer 2-5 years experience.
Relevant training will be provided on internal systems prior to commencement of service.
24* shift work
Role and responsibilities for 3nd line support, but not limited to:
Windows NT 3.51 – Windows 2008
Peregrine, CA Service Centre/service Manager
Global Array Manager
UNIX: Solaris; SCO; Linux; HP UX; IBM AIX
Installation, support and maintenance of Wintel and/or HP/ Linux/SUN servers
Troubleshooting all aspects of the Wintel and/or HP/Linux Operating Environment/Sun Solaris.
Manage file systems, disk devices, HP/Sun Volume Manager, Veritas Volume Manager
UNIX Scripting (SH, KSH, Perl)
Storage (EMC and NetApp) SAN/NAS. SAN/Network Switches.
High availability systems. IP Multipathing, Veritas Cluster Server (or other High Availability software) setup and troubleshooting
Performance tuning (networking, system security/hardening, I/O monitoring and analysis)
Maintenance of incidents SLA > 98% on both response & resolution problem solving
Maintenance of CSTATS (Customer Survey Statistics) > 8.9/10 on incidence closed
