Glenrand M·I·B is committed and focuses on transforming the insurance sector by ensuring an adequate supply of entry level people in scarce and critical positions within the organisation. As part of developing a talent pool, Glenrand M·I·B is offering the following workplace programmes:

  • What the programme covers
    When you join Glenrand M·I·B Limited, you will go through a structured rotation programme within the company. The Glenrand M·I·B Graduate Development Programme (GGDP) kicks off with an induction / orientation week during which you will get a broad overview of the company and insurance industry and get to meet and interact with senior managers at Glenrand.

    Thereafter, you will be exposed to various learning modules that will help build your competence to function effectively in the insurance industry. Blended learning approaches will be used and many of the modules will demand that you apply your classroom learning to your workplace. Feedback sessions will allow you the opportunity to reflect on your learning and performance in the workplace and motivate and sustain you on the programme.

    There is no doubt that this is a fast paced yet exciting programme that you will wish will never end.

    Why you should complete the programme
    Your university has assisted you to acquire competence in your respective field of study. What they haven’t developed is your competence in the business world. The GGDP is designed to help bridge the gap between university and business.

    The purpose of the programme
    To provide each graduate with fast-tracked on-the-job and applied learning opportunities.

    Networks and support
    You will be allocated a mentor to help you orientate yourself within the company and it is your responsibility to use the company networks to assist your development.

    Application Criteria

  • You must be a South African citizen
  • You must be studying at an accredited South African higher-education institution
  • You must be in your final year of study towards a BCom degree in Risk Management, Insurance or Economic Sciences
  • Postgraduate degree will also be considered
  • You must have less than 2 years full-time work experience
  • You must be willing to undergo psychometric assessments and panel interviews

    Complete the application form and return it with the following:

  • Motivational Essay explaining why you should be selected for our Graduate Development Programme and what special strengths you believe you have and how they will help you become a successful member of the company (not more than 500 words)
  • Relevant academic results/ transcripts
  • A copy of your ID
  • Copies of 2 references letters
