Head of Supply Chain Planning and Logistics/Distribution

Purpose of Role:

·    Leads the formulation of strategy for Supply Chain and Logistics which will drive optimal customer service and profitability

·    Optimise Supply Chain and Logistics profitability

·    Own the partnership and service level agreements with supply sources, distribution and warehouse service providers

Top Accountabilities

·    Create a new Brandhouse Supply Chain and Logistics function, consisting of SC Planning from Brandhouse, Sedibeng, NBL, Diageo, and the Brandhouse Primary and Secondary Distribution teams

·    Supply Chain and Logistics strategy formulation to ensure optimum customer service and profitability

·    Support and influence the overall Brandhouse S&OP process

·    Developing and managing Service Level Agreements with Supply partners, and manage the operational interface

·    Ensure all regulatory and compliance measures are met

·    Lead, motivate and develop the Supply Chain and Logistics team

·    Delivery of monthly performance KPI’s & progress reports on improvement actions implemented where necessary

Distribution

·    Ensure optimal customer service and order fulfilment

·    Ensure Distribution network is managed to balance customer service and profitability

·    Ensure effective risk management process in place to support product re-call

·    Identify and implement best in class processes and systems to support the supply chain network, suitable to the scope and size of the operation

Planning

·    Centralised planning across Brandhouse, Sedibeng, Namibian Breweries, Diageo for the full  portfolio, including Innovation (Integrate all planning processes and systems)

·    Drive the S&OP process for all relevant Supply elements

·    Ensure the continuity of products supply into the SA market on national and depot level

·    Identify and implement best in class processes and systems to support production, distribution and materials planning

·    Service Level risk communication and mitigation across portfolio

·    Ensure continuity of supply to our customers through the execution of daily, weekly and monthly planning processes between Brandhouse and the various supply sources, and the commercial teams

Systems & Processes

·    Management and business maintenance of all planning systems (SAP APO and TM1 DP)

·    Management of all material related data across all systems (SAP APO, TM1, SAP R/3, Mx)

Import & Export

·    Planning and execution of the importation of all Finished Goods and Raw Materials imports

Qualifications and Experience Required

Qualifications

·    Educated to degree level or equivalent (Post Grad degree would be an advantage)

·    APICS qualification an advantage

Experience

·    Broad based line management experience at senior level in supply chain management.

·    At least 10 years Supply Chain Management experience across Planning / Logistics / Distribution / Customer Service

·    Proven track record in change management and considerable experience in leading and delivering results using teams.

·    Ability to manage cost performance, supply/demand planning & distribution execution across a variety of product lines from multiple sources
