Hire Resolve is currently partnering with a reputable firm in the construction industry seeking a Mechanical Workshop Buyer to join the team in Wellington.
As the Mechanical Workshop Buyer, you will be responsible for purchasing and procuring mechanical equipment and materials for the workshop to support construction projects.
Responsibilities:
- Source and purchase mechanical equipment, tools, and materials as required for the workshop
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers
- Ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment to meet project requirements
- Maintain accurate records of purchases and inventory levels
- Work closely with the workshop team to understand their needs and requirements
- Monitor market trends and prices to ensure competitive sourcing
- Conduct regular supplier evaluations and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards
- Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution
Requirements:
- Minimum 3-5 years mechanical engineering experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a purchaser of mechanical parts
- Measurable knowledge of yellow machinery as well as vehicle parts
- Previous experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably in the construction industry
- Knowledge of mechanical equipment and materials
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Organizational and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in MS Office and purchasing software
- Valid driver’s license
