Home from Home Trust, a registered Cluster Foster Care Scheme, provides supported and supervised community based foster care for orphaned, abused and neglected children through a network of small family homes located around the Cape metropole and surrounding areas.

Job Title: Executive Director
Job Location: Cape Town

Responsibilities:

• Provide overall strategic leadership and direction with particular reference to the Vision2020 implementation
• Ensure proper governance and oversight
• Ensure compliance with all applicable legislation
• Maintain donor / stakeholder relationships and source new funding opportunities
• Ensure implementation and maintenance of financial management systems and donor reporting
• Human Resource management
• Manage the implementation of monitoring and evaluation database / systems

Requirements:

• An appropriate tertiary qualification
• Minimum of five to eight years’ senior management experience ideally gained in the nonprofit sector however NPO experience is not a pre-requisite
• Strong strategic management and analytical skills
• A consultative management approach and a willingness to engage with and learn from the experience of others
• Experience and skills in human resource management, budgeting and financial management
• Experience and skills in fundraising and building and maintaining donor / stakeholder relationships
• Demonstrated communication and networking capabilities, including building partnerships with community and civil society organisations, corporate and government organisations
• Previous experience in evaluating impact assessment of monitoring and evaluation systems an added advantage
• Ability to carry high workload and work under pressure
• Written and spoken English. (Fluency in Afrikaans and / or isiXhosa an advantage though not essential)
• Computer literacy
• Willingness to travel
• Drivers licence and own transport
