Home from Home Trust, a registered Cluster Foster Care Scheme, provides supported and supervised community based foster care for orphaned, abused and neglected children through a network of small family homes located around the Cape metropole and surrounding areas.

Job Title: Fundraising and Communications Coordinator
Job Location: Cape Town
Responsibilities:

Fundraising and Events

• Research the priorities of new and existing donors and keep up-to-date with funding opportunities
• Network locally and internationally to keep up-to date with new fundraising developments
• Develop concept notes, funding proposals, applications and reports in line with donor requirements
• Maintain an accurate database of current and prospective funding applications and outcomes
• Manage donor relationships through effective communication
• Organise PR / fundraising events
• Manage and implement sponsorship agreements

Internal and External Communications

• Develop and implement communication plan inclusive of content, themes and campaigns
• Manage the Home from Home website and social media platforms
• Generate and distribute annual report and quarterly newsletter

Requirements:

• A proven track record of three to five years in fundraising and donor relationship management in a non-profit organisation
• Communication and interpersonal skills
• Writing skills with the ability to produce concise, relevant proposals
• Ability to demonstrate initiative and work well under pressure
• Ability to plan and work within agreed timeframes
• A working knowledge of budgets
• High standard of computer literacy
• A working knowledge of Salesforce database will be an added advantage
• Au fait with website maintenance and social media platforms
• Ability to function effectively as part of a team and independently
• Ability to manage multiple tasks to achieve agreed objectives
