Hospice Palliative Care Association of South Africa seeks to promote quality in life, dignity in death and support in bereavement for all living with a life-threatening illness by supporting member hospices and partner organisations.

 

Job Title: Trainer / Quality Assurance Mentor
Location: KwaZulu-Natal

The primary purpose of this position is to provide technical support for the design and implementation of monitoring & evaluation and reporting activities for the APACE project.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL:

  • Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting

Collection, review, analysis and submission of district-level data and narrative reports, tracking of progress towards achievement of targets. Work with SAG and CBO partners to assess M&E needs and priorities, develop and implement M&E strengthening plans, and monitor progress. Provide follow-up guidance and support to strengthen M&E systems and use M&E data for learning and improvement.

Ensure compliance with all SAG and USAID/PEPFAR reporting requirements, that all M&E documents are properly filed & readily available, monitor progress and provide feedback to the project team on monthly work plans, draft analytical reports, data summaries, workshop reports, etc. Provide support to APACE project, including partners and sub-partners on any M&E related activities and requirements.

  • Human Resource Management

Ensure that the district M&E team is staffed as required by the APACE project. In conjunction with the HIV Community Services Lead and the Community District Manager, direct the work of district M&E personnel to ensure annual and long-term goals are met.
Ensure orientation/induction of newly appointed M&E field staff review, report on the performance of the district M&E staff quarterly and develop, supervise, train and evaluate district M&E staff

  • Stakeholder management

Establish and maintain co-operative working relationship with the Department of Health, serve as liaison between district related partners as well as internal partners

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • ND: BS/BA in public health or related field
  • 5 to 7 Years’ experience in HIV and AIDS or Public Health field
  • 4 Years’ experience in M&E reporting in PEPFAR funded projects
  • 5-6 Years’ experience in managing data intensive programs and designing M&E methodologies and tools
  • 3-4 Years’ management experience
  • Proficiency in MS Office
