Reporting to the Verticals Director, the successful candidates will be based in Cape Town.
Sales Management, Pipeline Management and conversion, Key client development, Product strategy execution, Management of Sales staff and their development, and overall stability and financial growth in the Cape Town region. The candidate needs to have a technical understanding of structured connectivity, fiber optics, network racks, and enclosures, UPS and backup power, Networking and Wi-Fi, and electronic security. The candidate must be able to adhere to systems and procedures in a fast-moving distribution environment.
Job Title: Regional Sales Manager – ICT
Duties & Responsibilities:
Identifying and understanding role players in each assigned account
Liaise between divisions and customers to efficiently communicate deliveries, ETA feedback, etc.
Support of Sales staff and Client relationships, with direct relationship development within the Key Customer base.
Portraying professionalism and confidence that delivers the ultimate in customer service
To build and maintain an active customer base to support the sales team
The candidate should be fully comfortable with client engagement at an executive level and vendor engagement to support.
Proactivity on sales by implementing an agreed sales strategy with the Account manager on named accounts
Understanding of each assigned account, with the ability to give regular feedback
Quotations should meet specifications as per requirement, thorough insight of specific accounts or departments should be taken into consideration when quoting
Specific objectives set for each account/ownership of account/understanding of individual
Support the Sales team and develop new sales
To capitalize on opportunities through the negotiation of prices to achieve sales targets set by the Management team
Maintain an agreed level of proactive telephone contact with both existing and prospective customers
Effectively deal with telephone inquiries requesting quotations for products, compiling
information on the desired products or datasheets
Maximize sales by continually expanding orders and upselling on all incoming and outgoing calls
Liaise daily with the external sales team and update them on any developments on their accounts, ensuring a high level of team relationships exist
Cross-discipline team working
Order Process – Consultative Selling
Create quotations from requests received
Ensure all orders received are entered into the system accurately
Meet and exceed the agreed SLAs on quoting and deliveries
Ensure a consistent closure rate within appropriate timelines
Follow up on warehouse until in production and to delivery
Account Managers are to be cc’d on all correspondence on their accounts
Ensure all quotations are followed up
Ensure that all customer complaints, issues, and queries reach a successful and appropriate conclusion
Processing of relevant orders, delivery notes/collection notes, back orders, ETA’s, and feedback communication
Filing of relevant documents
Follow up on queries, quotations, deliveries, and payments timeously
Provide management with sales on-hand reports timeously on a weekly basis
The fundamentals of sales management including accurate forecasting, pipeline management, key deal development, and management of the sales cycle.
Desired Experience & Qualification:
Matric is essential and a tertiary qualification will be an advantage
Relevant Tertiary Qualification or Certificate in Fibre Optic Technology and design, structure connectivity, data center design, electronic and electrical areas of expertise
10 years’ experience relevant to the industry in a management or senior role
Preferrable experience and short courses in the following: Krone, Netconnect, Molex, Corning, Panduit, Prysmian, APC, Schneider, Rittal, Emerson, Vertiv, Stulz, Eaton, Delta, Riello, ABB, Huawei, Aruba, HP, Ruckus, Juniper, CDCP, CDCDP, CDCS, Uptime, electronic and electrical engineering, and computer sciences.
Understanding of PCs, notebooks, servers, storage, and other IT peripherals will be an advantage
Own transport and a valid driver’s license
