Job Title: Finance Manager
Job Location: Pretoria
Salary: R11 667.42

The purpose of this position is to work alongside the Finance Manager to ensure that IY’s payments, pastel processing and payroll is done efficiently and timeously.

Responsibilities:

Contribute to Department Objectives

  • Work together with and support the Finance Manager to progressively work towards achieving department objectives
  • Ensure that you work from a branch at least twice every school term

Payments and Payroll

  • Ensure correct amounts are paid, timeously and with proper authorisation
  • Ensure that correct account details loaded
  • Ensure that cost centre cards always have positive balance of R5k to support operations
  • Ensure that supporting documents are saved by the 15th every month
  • Ensure that calculations for payroll input is accurate
  • Timely processing by the 18th of every month

Pastel Processing

  • Ensure accurate data capturing
  • Data capturing to be completed by the 15th of every month
  • Ensure that supporting documents have been saved by the 7th of each month

Compliance

  • Apply for Tax clearance certificate at least seven days before expiry
  • Submit returns before due dates as follows;
  • EMP201 and UI19 before 7th of each month
  • VAT201 return within 30 days for prior month
  • IT14 before 30 November annually
  • EMP501 as per SARS dates
  • Track renewal dates and action accordingly

Asset Management

  • Get confirmation from Tech for all new assets on a monthly basis
  • Conduct reconciliation of the assets register to financial statements on a monthly basis
  • Conduct a review of the assets register for completeness against financial information on a monthly basis

Administration

  • Invoice as per schedule on the tracker
  • Update the Fundraising Coordinator every Friday
  • Send bank statements every Friday
  • Update meeting records on a weekly basis
  • Keep track of action items

Training and Support

  • Train new finance team members within the first month of their joining
  • Annual Audit as per schedule and production of reports 30 days after completion of the audit
  • Provide all information upon request by the finance manager

Requirements:

  • National Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, economics, or related field
  • Minimum of two to three years’ experience
  • Computer skills and knowledge of computerised accounting packages and other software (Microsoft Office, Excel, Pastel Evolution, Sage VIP and ESS)
  • Working knowledge of accounting principles and GAAP
