Our client in the Packaging industry is looking for an experienced Costing Manager to join their organisation.

Job Summary:

• As a Packaging Costing Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing and analysing the packaging costs. You will be responsible for assessing, monitoring, and optimizing the expenses associated with packaging materials and processes. Your expertise in cost analysis, vendor management, and packaging optimization will contribute to our overall operational efficiency and profitability. This role requires a strong analytical Mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with various teams.

Responsibilities:

• Analyse and evaluate packaging costs on each order, including materials, labour, equipment, and transportation expenses. Identify cost-saving opportunities, recommend strategies, and implement measures to improve packaging cost efficiency.
• Develop and manage packaging cost budgets, forecasts, and cost control measures. Monitor spending against budget, identify variances, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
• Collaborate with procurement and supplier management teams to establish and maintain strong relationships with packaging material suppliers. Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to ensure competitive costs and quality standards.
• Collaborate with various departments such as operations, logistics, quality control, and marketing to understand packaging requirements, ensure timely delivery, and align with business objectives.
• Stay up to date with packaging regulations, industry standards, and sustainable packaging practices. Implement measures to ensure compliance with regulations and promote sustainable packaging initiatives.
• Lead and supervise a team of packaging cost analysts, providing guidance, mentoring, and support. Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Costing (BCom)
• Proven experience in packaging cost analysis, cost management, or related roles.
• System experience of Quick Easy would be beneficial.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and financial information.
• Proficiency in using cost analysis tools and software.
• Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Knowledge of packaging materials, design, and manufacturing processes.
• Understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial principles.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements and sustainability practices related to packaging.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
• Strong leadership abilities with the capacity to motivate and inspire a team
