Interactive Research and Development South Africa (IRD SA NPC) is a South African Section 21 not-for-profit entity and an affiliate of Interactive Research and Development Global (IRD Global), and has fully operational offices in Johannesburg, Pretoria (Gauteng) and in Durban (KwaZulu-Natal).

 

 

Job Title: Social Auxiliary Workers
Location: City of Johannesburg x 15,
Tshwane x 5
Cape Wine lands x 8
Employment type: Fixed term contract
Reporting to the Provincial Managers

Position Summary

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support and assistance to the counselling team
  • Link tuberculosis (susceptible and resistant) patients to treatment and care
  • Provide adherence support to persons infected with TB (Retaining patients to care and prevent treatment interruption)
  • Provide monthly reports to line manager
  • Liaise with relevant programme staff as need be to support patients
  • Assist with social support interventions
  • Document service provided, time sheets and updating records
  • Participate in team meetings, reviews and quality improvement strategies

Requirements:

  • Appropriate qualification and proof of latest registration
  • Minimum one-year experience working in a similar position, or within the mental health programme will be an advantage
  • Fluency in at least two of the official languages of Gauteng and Western Cape
  • Written and spoken communication skills
  • Computer literacy

Working conditions:

  • Willingness and availability to travel within district
  • On occasion, to work long and/or irregular /or after hours/ holidays and weekends if needed
