KAMOA COPPER SA is looking for a Managerial Leader I, HR Effectiveness

The Kamoa Copper Mine, is a joint venture between Ivanhoe Mines (39.6%), Zijin Mining Group (39.6%), Crystal River Global Limited (0.8%) and the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo (20%). It’s a very large, near-surface, flat-lying, stratiform copper deposit with adjacent prospective exploration areas within the Central African Copperbelt, at approximately 25 kilometres west of the town of Kolwezi and about 270 kilometres west of the provincial capital of Lubumbashi.

To develop and implement the Human Resource Effectiveness strategy and plan to ensure legislative compliance, support business objectives and enable an empowered, engaged, and competent work force. The incumbent creates an enabling and productive environment for employees to achieve the production targets. The scope of this role includes labour plan management, performance and change management, recruitment and retention, shaft manning, IR/ER, HR reporting, contractor HR management, HR policies, standards and procedures development, external HR services providers management, HR team development, HR projects initiation and execution, and people development projects assistance.

You will have the following:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology or Human Resources or Social Science
  • Master’s Degree in Human Resources Management / MBA is preferred
  • 10 – 15 years’ relevant experience actively participating and leading the implementation of HR policies, systems, team building and negotiating with internal and external stakeholders about HR issues
  • Experience in the mining environment highly advantageous
  • Fluency in French and English preferred. Swahili is advantageous

  • Develop, embed, and maintain an integrated HR Effectiveness strategy and plan
  • Champion effective employee experience journeys throughout the entire employee lifecycle (from onboarding to exit)
  • Drive Performance and Change Management
  • Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies, standards, and processes across the business area
  • Provide a world class HR experience through IT Systems enablement by optimising HR projects, employee data, administration, and reporting
  • Manage and oversee Contractors and Service Providers
  • Manage and oversee IR/ER function
  • Manage relationships with stakeholders to enable optimisation of the business value chain
  • Manage a division that builds people, values difference and creates an inclusive work environment
  • Forecast, secure, and manage the budget as per Delegation of Authority Matrix
