Job Description

The JD Group Birthing Talent Strategy is aimed at ensuring a consistent approach of talent in order to meet future needs by targeting students through the Bursary Programmes. The Bursary Programme is a year-long developmental programme which builds and optimises talent capacity through learning and developmental practices and opportunities.

During the course of bursary students’ studies, students are coached, developed and given the opportunity to gain structured work experience.

Selection Process

Step 1: Candidates who meet the requirements will be invited for a one-on-one screening interview.

Step 2: Shortlisted candidates will then be invited to participate in a role-play case study assessment exercise

Step 3: Then further shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview with the selected stakeholders. This interview will take place inform of a panel interview

Step 4: Then successful shortlisted candidates will be invited to complete a leadership assessment.

Step 5: Offers will be made to successful candidates who will be invited to sign the necessary documents.

Requirements

The JD Group Bursary Programme calls for applications from individuals who are studying towards a Bachelor or a National Diploma qualification. With our diverse business model which opens up a world of opportunities for personal and career development, the 2013 Graduate and Bursary Programme will allow for applications from the following fields: Finance, Project Management, Human Resources, Marketing, Law, IT, Logistics, Buying Planning, Risk, Property, Retail Management.

Applicants should have obtained a 60% average for all their modules and they should be able to relate to the following personal characteristics:

Application documents required:

  • Motivational letter
  1. The motivational letter should be a 200 word description of how the applicant has impacted his or her community.
  2. The motivational letter should be accompanied by at least three references of persons who could be contacted with regards to the applicant’s contribution to his or her community
  3. At least one testimonial letter from the references should be accompany the application
  • CV.
  • Certified Copy of ID.
  • Certified copy of academic transcript.
