Job Title: Adherence Counsellor or Linkage officer
Job Location: Johannesburg
Start date: 10 September 2018
Duration: Seven months’ contract
Reports to: Social worker

The Adherence Counsellor / Linkage officer will be responsible for follow up and linkage to care and adherence to PEP.

Responsibilities:

PEP

• Support the psychological well-being of survivors of sexual abuse throughout the 28-day PEP treatment and also to manage PEP side effects
• Implement and facilitate support groups with survivors
• Include families in the PEP adherence support process

ART

• Support clients who have tested HIV positive to attend the health facility to seek ART initiation
• Support clients who have initiated ART to adhere
• Include families in the ART adherence support process

General

• Provide further information and education to survivors to ensure they have thorough knowledge and understanding of the drug regimen/s
• Improve/strengthen the mechanism for verifying successful referrals to health facilities and outcomes
• Provide further information and education to clients to ensure they have thorough knowledge and understanding of HIV / ART/ SRH / PEP

Requirements:

• Social Auxiliary Work qualification
• Time management skills
• Computer literacy in Microsoft Office Package
• Creative skills
