Job Title: IT TECHNICIAN
Location: Durban

Job Summary:
The successful applicant will be based at the Durban site and responsible for the daily IT technical support requirements as well as responding to telephonic support calls from satellite sites. The individual will report to and perform a supporting role to the Information Technology Manager.

QUALIFICATION:
Grade 12 or equivalent
A +, N+ or equivalent technical qualification in hardware and softwar

EXPERIENCE:
At least 2 years’ experience in technical IT Support.
Previous exposure in the execution of internal or external audits.
Ability to work independently and under pressure.
Team player in expansion of IT Projects related to efficiency in the design and maintenance of IT networks.
IN ADDITION, THE FOLLOWING WILL BE ADVANTAGEOUS:

Advanced Computer skills to support Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Office 365.
Proven knowledge and proficiency in Networks and fault finding.
Administration of a Virtual Server Environment.
Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment to support CAD and Project Management software.
Experience in desktop and application support.
Wired, wireless, 3G, mobile device, VPN infrastructure support.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS:
Responsibilities will include, Administration of servers, workstations, laptops, printers and providing remote support together with installation and configuration of both hardware and software.
Procurement of IT and Telecommunications equipment, supplies and consumables as well as liaison with the different suppliers and sites will be required.
Auditing compliance functions and IT Asset control will be required to be maintained.
Microsoft Windows operating system setup, configuration, and support of new and existing hardware in a domain/cloud based wide area network will form an integral component of tasks and responsibilities.

The candidate must be prepared to work overtime and attend to after-hours support with possible travel to sites, as and when required. Unendorsed drivers’ licence and own transport essential.
