JUNIOR ECONOMISTS 2 POSTS REF NO: DPE/2016/023 [two year contract] Directorate: Transport SALARY : R196 278 per annum, Level 7

CENTRE : Pretoria REQUIREMENTS : Applicant must be in possession of an appropriate Degree in Economics, Transport Economics or related disciplines. Work experience demonstrating analytical abilities and good verbal and written communication skills. Understanding of the land surface freight transport sector and related developments.

DUTIES : The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking research on freight transport sector developments and analysis of these developments to the general economy. Assist in undertaking analysis of land surface freight operations; conduct economic and statistical analysis for freight corridor performances; research on the impact of economic regulation to the freight transport sector. Assist in monitoring and evaluating the performance of the SOCs on Medium Term Strategic Framework (MTSF), National Development Plan (NDP) and nine point plan.
