The following positions will become available at Kheth’Impilo AIDS Free Living upon successful application and approval of funding for the Karabo ea Bophelo (KB) Activity based in Lesotho.

Karabo ea Bophelo (KB) (which translates as ‘a solution to good health’) is a five-year Activity to prevent new HIV infections and reduce vulnerability among orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) and adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) in Lesotho. The strategic objective supports Government of Lesotho (GOL) multi-sector strategies and priorities for HIV mitigation and prevention, with an emphasis on minimizing negative impacts of HIV on OVC and AGYW, addressing social, behavioural and structural drivers of HIV, and improving access to comprehensive sexual reproductive health (SRH) services to prevent new infections.

Job Title: Chief of Party (COP)/Country Director (CD)

Responsibilities

The Chief of Party or Country Director will have overall responsibility for coordination and management of all award activities and staff.

S/he will have primary responsibility for representation of the project to USG. S/he will have the leadership qualities, technical expertise and experience, management experience, interpersonal skills and relationships to fulfil the requirements of the program description.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Public Health, Social Welfare, Institutional or Organizational Development,
  • International Management, Public Administration or related field;
  • At least ten (10) years of experience implementing and managing complex HIV programs in the Southern Africa region (Lesotho and/or South Africa) at a senior level of similar scope and size, with significant experience in PEPFAR programs.
  • Previous senior project management experience strongly preferred;
  • Technical expertise in policy and programs serving vulnerable adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) at high risk of HIV acquisition; children and adolescents living with HIV; and HIV-exposed infants, especially from young mothers;
  • Familiarity with GoL National OVC and youth policies;
  • Knowledge of gender issue and links with OVC, AGYW and HIV/AIDS;
  • Demonstrated ability to engage government and to represent OVC and AGYW priorities and issues;
  • Demonstrated experience in financial, personnel and technical management.

Job Title: Technical Lead OVC

Responsibilities

  • The Technical Lead OVC will be responsible for the technical oversight of the OVC components of the Activity, including work planning and reporting. S/he will oversee all OVC activities in collaboration with other technical leads.
  • S/he will also guide the care and support provided to children and adolescents living with HIV enrolled in the project.
  • S/he will report directly to the COP/CD and support the COP/CD in providing technical direction to project implementation and ensure that the OVC results are met. S/he will ensure strong linkages with all other project components.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in social sciences, social work, child development, education or related field;
  • At least 8 years of experience designing, implementing and managing OVC projects of similar scope and size; with experience in Lesotho highly desirable;
  • Demonstrated experience in managing programs that address the needs of vulnerable children and adolescents, adolescents living with HIV, OVC caregiver support, economic strengthening, child protection, violence against children, case management, early childhood development, OVC policy and advocacy;
  • Demonstrated skills in project reporting, preferably for PEPFAR-funded OVC programs;
  • Familiarity with Lesotho’s institutional, policy and programming context for OVC.

Job Title: Technical Lead Prevention Services

  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with PEPFAR programming, including HIV prevention and programming for adolescent girls and young women;
  • Familiarity with Lesotho’s institutional, policy and programming context for HIV.

Job Title: Technical Lead, Strategic Information

Responsibilities

Responsible for designing and implementing systems to ensure appropriate tracking and assessment of all project activities. S/he will have primary responsibility of reporting on project outputs and outcomes and for ensuring quality of interventions.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in public health evaluation, public health, epidemiology, statistics, demography or related field.
  • At least 8 years of experience in monitoring and evaluation of HIV/AIDS and/or OVC and AGYW programs of similar scope and size.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and managing data collection systems, with experience in Lesotho highly desirable.
  • Ability to develop and implement quality assurance systems.
  • Familiarity with Government National OVC, youth and HIV care and support policies and plans.

Job Title: Finance and Administration Director
Job Location:

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the overall financial management of the organization. S/he will oversee the effective and
  • appropriate use of financial resources of the Activity; develop effective mechanisms to monitor the expenditures.
  • S/he will ensure implementation of administrative, financial and human resource policies in line with USG regulations.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in accounting, finance, commerce or related field.
  • At least 8 years of experience working as a finance and administration manager on activities of similar scope and size.
  • Familiarity with managing programs that are donor funded especially with those that are USG funded.
  • Extensive financial experience working with Non-Governmental Organizations.
